Substation workers and volunteers overhaul Mind-On's Kirkwall shop and store

Visiting contractors on the Orkney Link project, which includes the Finstown substation, have helped Mind-On volunteers transform the Kirkwall charity's storage and shop facilities. A packed shipping container of donations from the Orkney public was cleared and delivered to the Firth Community Centre. Surplus donations had built up until items were difficult to access and sort, and goods risked damage. Volunteers and workers spent four days sorting and cataloguing the donations while professional racking was installed in the container.
The upgraded spaces let Mind-On dedicate resources elsewhere, so the charity can continue to boost local mental health funding.
